pop-hearts.net is an exploration of found love on our much-maligned TTC.

a couple weeks ago, my partner started noticing hearts made of proof-of-payment tickets stuck in maps and ads on the train. we don't know you -- whoever started this -- but we wanted to tell you that we love you too.

pop hearts are both a non-destructive reconfiguration material (nothing is added to nor removed from the ttc system) and a show of support not just for the eyes seeing them but the ttc itself.

we love this place; it undergirds every community in the city. let's not mistake broken for rotten.

joy and attention are rare when commuting. it's nice to see something pretty when we choose to look up ♥︎
